so i guess the 2 other things i can see effecting wheel position would be sway bars and mounting position. the rears could mount higher up in relation to the bottom of the car in legacy's in the rear and therefore the strut is up in the body more. ive never actually measured these things but it makes sense as the legacy is a larger car
and as far as sway bars go if mine werent wide enough couldnt it technically effect the location of the wheels? i mean its just an idea, again i have only ever dealt with stock suspension set ups in the past, nothing this advanced.
