I currently have a vf39 on my 03 wrx, before this setup, I had an evo3 16g, which the 16g xt replaced. I was right around 340 at the wheels and it spooled even a little quicker than my vf. I have modified stock injectors at 820cc, big top mount, walbro, 3port ebcs and all the usual stage 2 stuff. I loved that turbo and if my car is still running when my vf goes, I will be on the hunt for another one. I understand about not wanting to get into meth, it does seem like a hassle. but you would be surprised about how much is actually used under boost and most modern systems have safety shut offs where if something goes wrong or the system runs empty, your boost is cut to wastegate spring pressure. I'm not by any means trying to sell you on it, I have never run it my car or know what its like to live with every day, but I have run e85 in my subaru so the the meth is always tempting now that I don't live near e85. let us know the outcome of your build!
