It all depends on what you are looking for. The older models are easier to OS Tune (Open source) based on my experiences with my '11 from my '06. Meaning you dont need an AP to get a pro tune.

With that said it depends on what you are looking to do.

If you just want to get a tune and not looking for multiple maps (race map, E85, economy map, etc) and not looking to add more upgrades to your car every few month/year go with an OS tune. If you think you will have to retune every few months and want multiple maps get the AP.

You should check your local forums and find out who is a reputable tuner in your area and contact them. Tell them what you are looking to do with your car and I am sure they will tell you what your best options are.

Either way you go I would consider talking to your local tuner before you buy anything.
