The motor was originally Dual AVCS. I switched to 04-07 STi camshafts because the pickups for the camshaft sensors are the same as 08+. With the exhaust camshafts from the 04-07 not having AVCS this was to make my AVCS delete process easier.

The reason for deleting AVCS is to keep the motor mechanically simple as possible. This motor was built to take a beating, last as long as possible, and be reliable. AVCS and it's required cam gears are just something else that could possibly go wrong. I'm a fan of static cam timing (except when I build Honda's) and I really won't see any ill effects of not having AVCS when it comes to power and low end power. My compression and cam timing will make up for this.

I'll make sure to post some dynographs and data to backup my claims. Even if I'm wrong, I'll still post up what I collected for information so people can choose to not do it if they are debating it, or do it because its beneficial.
