I look at the 2 options this way:

I walk into a dealer's showroom. He has 2 identical looking cars. He will sell me either for excatly the same price and they are a "no negotiation" dealer.

The first is a brand new car. The downside is that because of a restriction that the dealer has, they must keep that brand new car in their showroom to show potential buyers what it's like, since they're hard to get. You can pick up the car in 120 days, but they'll let you drive the other car as-is for those 4 months. The other car has some dammage that will need to be repaired after I get my new car and return the dammaged one.

The other option is the dammaged car, which they plan to cut all apart, weld back together, paint and give a $500 accesory card and extended warantee for. Of course, carfax will show it as dammaged and Toyota's system will show it as dammaged with (let's say) $3000 in dammage.

Given that situation, which option would you choose?

Seems like a no-brainer to me.
