Question, or your suggestion, either way..
I am looking to add a bolt action to my collection, but wanting to stay as close to $500 as i can.
Mossberg's have seem to caught my eye, 2 series in particular the 4x4 in a .308, or the MVP which only comes in a .223.
I have found a MVP local that i can get for ~$550+tax, but i can't find any 4x4 to see how they feel. The only 4x4 i can find is online for $330 but then you have to pay the transfer fee, etc.
My only hesitation with the MVP is that it is only a .223, and i am not sure how far out that round will be accurate and still lethal.
I am mainly getting this rifle for paper, 300yrd+, but would like to take it out if i do go decided to hunt.
Any opinions on either of theses 2 guns, or rounds?
