took the Baja to the dealer for an annual state inspection, alignment, and some minor stuff and got the call...."your HG's are bad...really bad" kind of a bummer at 74k. Well I told them forget it unless Subaru wanted to help me out with this a little. Long story short a few calls back and forth with the dealer and Subaru and they are going to pay for it all but $500. I can live with that. I told them to put on a new timing belt and do the front seals too while they are in there and hopefully it should be good to go.
