Yeah, I'm going to shermin Williams, they matched my front bumper lip 100% air spray always.
As for the post the hijacked my thread trudd84 :P I see where your coming from. But in my opinion, I can still see the holes and it just doesn't look "flush". My trunk is going to be basically an impreza trunk. You can't see the holes ever. There will be no marks or dents on the top.
As for pricing so far:
Trunk with minor dents: $50 ----> still using
Fiberglass matting: $7 -----------> scratched that
Bondo filler plus hardener: $ 10 -> still using
JB weld original: $8-10 ----------> still using
Scrap aluminum metal: $0-------> still using
White primer for metal: $10 -----> still using
So far without the paint I have spent $80, $90 if I add the fiberglass matting. And it's not like I used up all the bondo and primer. Paint is going to to around 80-100 including clear coat. So the total of this project I estimated is going to be around 200. I'm saving $100 bucks.
I understand where your coming from, but I just don't like it in MY opinion. I prefer to spend extra money + time into something aesthetically more pleasing
