Subaru is doing a great job driving the brand to increase sales, but that means getting less unique to capture more market. As far as winter transport, I value my prius more than an AWD system. In the DC area, some ding dongs in there powerful RWD sedans will get stuck on every major and minor roadway, blocking every entrance and exit getting home. I had 5 strangers in my Prius keeping warm after there cars ran out of gas sitting on the road idling for 5 hours. If you can't move the powertrain doesn't matter. Before you blast me, I was once a hardcore Subaru guy and still love the brand, but the company is lagging in areas. Most people won't look at how the AWD system works, they just look at the trunk for the AWD logo.
Much of what you wrote makes no sense. Maybe your 5 strangers ran out of gas cause they didn't have enough gas in the tank that morning. Not sure exactly where Subaru is lagging?
