yeah you had good advise for me and I should have listened. But I was used to the shadow and liked that cruiser feel. I think it kept me out of trouble while I learned how to ride. You can't really get into trouble with a 750 Shadow. But thats how it goes. Move forward and learn from your experiences. The only reason I'd consider an R1 over an R6 is due to the size factor. I feel like a big kid on a little bike when I throw a leg over an R6. My YZF600R was a little small for me. People even commented on how cramped I looked on it. Speaking of that one, it needs some work this winter. One of the front shocks is leaking.
I'd say I got a lot out of this riding season. From beginning of april to end of Sept isn't bad for alaska. I rode in the rain even.
