I had a new EJ205 shortblock from subaru, bolted up 04' WRX shimless bucket heads, and put a VF-39 with no shaftplay on it with deatschworks 565cc injectors and a walbro 255 (same flowrate as the "Pinks"), it's lasted 30k with no shortblock related problems, mostly just maintenance stuff and things that break that I caused from working on it

and it's still running strong
