yep. I've found the best time to check the oil is ten or twenty minutes after its been driven long enough to get fully warmed up to operating temp.
Steve, I don"t know what to tell you, I check the oil and coolant so often its ridiculous. They both measure the same for all intents and purposes. as I said, I have very little variation at all between cold or hot on the oil or coolant> obviously ymmv.
