I'm assuming you're talking about the BA as they're both Savages
I got the "rare" .300 WM version of the BA. The market is flooded with the .338 LM version but I didn't want to spend that much on ammo, especially when I don't have the range to really use the ballistics of the .338 LM. I reload, but even reloads will run 2-3 times as much as my .300 WM reloads, and I can reuse a lot of the .30 caliber gear on the .308 so the .300 WM made more sense. It'll shoot pretty much the same groupings, it just doesn't react to wind as well as the .338 LM or carry quite the same energy at range (though paper doesn't require much).
I got 1/2 MOA with the .300 WM pretty easily at 300+ with 190gr SMKs. I was using 168gr SMKs but they weren't stabilizing past 200 so I went with the heavier pill and that seems to have tightened things up. However this weekend the .308 was giving it a run for its money. I worked up a 175gr SMK load for it that's a match made in heaven with its 5R barrel. I have one grouping at 300 yards that was all one big hole which is probably the best group I've ever shot, and that was with the wind
