got bored and messed around a little today. I used to have a similar setup on my old 2.5RS so i thought I'd try again. Intake heat shield DIY.
What I used:
Small piece of sheet metal, cut to desired size needed for clearance and fit. Bent to fit. Painted to desired color, or left metal.
Found some random hardware- "c" bracket, and short screw with nut.
Test fit it on the intake, under the hose clamp, against the filter.
Test fit the hardware on the shield
painted the shield red, to match my other under hood goodies.
Cleaned up under the hood while the paint dried, the shield matches pretty well in my opinion.
I would have used more c brackets if i had them, at least one more. I will put another on eventually, this was a quick mock up to reproduce the one I had made for my 2.5RS
