Relax, I got my first car at 17, almost 18 (2 more months) paid for it myself, and it was my 2008 wrx. Never got a ticket, no accidents, follows the rules on streets, have fun on backroads with cruises, but i understand my limits, i dont push my car if i dont feel 100% sure of getting off the hook. Its really more of having these straight A's kids working and understanding that money isnt easy to come by. Age does not equal wisdom. I am way beyond my years. work 2 jobs to pay for college, pay for my car, help my mom because she's "sick", watch my dad work 2 jobs too. personally, I think its because he's not responsible. Grades dont mean intelligence in real life, its two completely different things. Make your "smart" kids work and pay for their car. Makes a big difference.
