That is assuming they will even touch your gears... lots of shops will not do an install like this with gears you brought in yourself, as they can't offer any warranty any more, and risk getting a bad name. (much like the food example above, not many restaurants would grill up your steak, and if they did, they would just charge you the menu price anyway) So yes, the FIRST thing you want to do is start calling around. Talk to them, see what gears they offer, and then ask if you can bring in your own if they don't have what you are looking for. Ordering gears first is a really bad choice.
You are missing the point. I am set on wanting the Rallispec tall gears. What I am not set on is having TiC install them. If TiC can't or won't install them, or charges more labor than I am willing to pay, I won't go to TiC. End of story. I know what gearset I want, that is not going to change no matter who does the install. I am not going to base my parts choice strictly on the fact a local shop won't install them. Which I am sure is absurd, and TiC will have no problem installing a brand new gearset I bought from a reputable shop.
If that is the case, I have already spoken with Andrewtech before I made this thread. They are fine with me ordering the Rallispec gears and shipping them everything. I just don't want to pay for shipping the 6MT to them.
