Honestly, though, given the demographic, 258lb-ft torque is okay. We also have to realize that all this going with the CVT. CVT!
Of course, if you're not even looking at getting a Forester then I could see how one could be unimpressed. The main goal for these cars is to brag about increased MPG. We already know they can get more power from the engine, but at what cost? The Forester isn't about power, it's about utility.
There's also the rumor that Subaru wants to make more STI variants based on how well the Forester tS has done in Russia. If that's true then you'll get your less-yawnful Forester in the future.
