Why not put some vibration isolators at the chassis mounting locations instead of at the transmission connection? This would allow a nearly identical construction with just a little additional gap compared to what you have shown for the isolators. Think rear diff outrigger bushes. You could have different durometer bushes or mount it solid with a nylon spacer. Modular!
