As far as products, I have had the 3m Ventureshield (scotchguard is the lower model product from 3M and only comes up to 2foot widths rolls) on my previous car (Corvette Z06). The Ventureshield is thick enough to protect from chips but hazes from contamination over time (dirt and residue will embed in the stuff and forget about getting it out - this makes it haze and look yellower over time).
I now have XPEL ultimate (can heal itself from slight scratches that do not penetrate the plastic film). This stuff is much glossier but not the glossiest but damn close and will cost about 2-3 times more than 3M/Ventureshield.
Installers are harder to find though that show attention to detail.
