dont forget the new radiator, fans, crossmember and other bits you'll need to do the conversion...
all in all a conversion will cost approx $6-7k to do it correctly.
Actually, one of the guys here in Detroit has a 2001 RS with a 2002 WRX conversion using the stock RS tranny. Seems to be holding up well so far.
There are always hardened gearsets if the need arises. I actually prefer the RS ratios to that of the WRX.
