People just love to argue, even when presented with irrefutable evidencen they will still argue that they deserve new parts for free, or that we should inspect their 10 year old car for free. The media has already made this to be a bigger problem than it is. The reality is it likely only affects cars that were haphazardly and cheaply rebuilt, likely a salvaged car rebuilt by some guy in an industrial park.
Counterfeit parts has always been and will likely always be an issue within the automotive industry, replacement airbags
included. However, where the danger lies is that a person doesn’t know if they received one, especially if their car has been repaired after a crash.
