I hope you're good at wrenching on your car, because a 20 year old Porsche is going to be a maintenance hog. FWIW, I pass 996 911s on the track all the time in my '08 WRX.
If this is going to be your daily driver then my advice is keep the Subie. Its faster, more practical, less expensive to drive, and less expensive to maintain.
I get the going with the car you love perspective but for a DD a 20 year old Porsche is going to be an exercise in road side repair..
