The question for me would be what is my main drive for having the car? There is something to be said about an emotional connection to the car and you can't use logic here to justify it
So, if the main drive is an emotional one, then just go with that regardless
For me the main drive it is overall usage. I daily drive my STi...on E85. While I don't have to DD far, I still love having the reliability and utility (it's a hatch) for the times I need to pack people and stuff around.
On the track, even with stock suspension (so far), I am getting by cars like the 4S and pacing supercharged S6s b/c I am working the best modification of them all...me as a driver. So don't worry about being down on power; that does not necessarily equate to the overall fun factor or how "fast" you can go.
If I could have three cars, I would trade in the STi for a Jetta TDi and get something like a Miata, etc., cage it, etc., and be done. Much cheaper to run a car like that than the STi. I might do this plan anyhow.
