I've got a 2013 Impreza 2.0 with the CVT transmission. When started COLD it takes 3-1/2 minutes before the idle comes down to 1000 rpm or so. When first started, the engine revs at 1800 for about 2 minutes...then drops to 1500 rpm for a minute...then slowly levels off to 1000 rpm or so. This is my first CVT transmission and I've been wondering if it is OK to just let it run for 30 seconds or so and then drop it into gear...anyone doing that or ?
Currently I let it run for the 3 minutes before I put it into gear...

Same here. I usually wait about 1 minute and wait for the blue light to turn off.
