Perhaps because it's just a photo of an ATS with a Buick grill & headlights chopped into it? Probably about as accurate as all the 'speculative' renderings always showing up in JDM auto magazines.
Buick's design language has almost nothing in common with Caddy's 'Art & Science' look; I'd expect a complete sheetmetal re-design on any Alpha-based Buick. Anything less, and it'll be a huge warning sign that GM is heading back towards the bad old days of badge engineering.
Also, having it as a standalone platform instead of a hopped-up sleeper Regal is a little disappointing, and I'm betting it will be stupid expensive too.
Considering that every car reviewer is hailing the Alpha platform as dynamically superior (or at least equal) to the 3-series, I think it's a far superior choice than the Regal's Opel FF (w/ AWD option) platform for a performance oriented car.
There's already a "fun" version of the FWD Regal anyway (the GS); there's only so much more that can be done w/ FWD.
The ATS starts at $35k an as entry-level luxury sedan; that's right in line with Buick pricing as well. I doubt you'll be buying the new RWD Buicks for $25k, if that's what you want (of course, that won't buy you the current Regal either, so...)
