I would agree, except that the BRZ is a very, very low-volume vehicle. Projected 6k a year and people STILL are on waiting lists for them? And then throwing a turbo-charged variant for substantially more money on top of that? Marketing, sure, but financially, it just doesn't make sense. SOA Blog has stated that they only made the BRZ because Toyota had already commissioned the GT-86/FR-S and Subaru wanted us to have something, too, because they are so proud of what they engineered.
Add to that the fact that the creator of the GT-86 recently interviewed about how a turbocharged variant isn't approved by his design philosophy... People want a LOT of things. That doesn't mean they always get it.
