Like always look after and maintain your car, check regularly for wear and damage. The factory gives you a very well rounded and safe vehicle. That being said please don’t hurt yourself, your friends, or your car by assuming your factory brakes (what ever they may be) can handle the same abuse that a suitable and tailored brake kit can handle. I have lived in the mountains and seen people push their brakes, whether it be rushing home for the holidays up windy roads or cars/trucks towing trailers, and running into braking problems due to over heating. This sort of driving can easily warp thin rotors, especially the rears in the popular Nissan s chassis, or crack the brake pads in severe cases.
