Overall getting about four or five MPG's more now (hand calculated) in a urban environment than I did with my previous 2008 OBS w/4AT. Not as good as I expected when I ordered it; however, overall, the 2012 Impreza Sport Limited is a much better car, IMHO. The 2012 does have a nasty habit of "engine braking" when going downhill with the foot off the gas at about 25-40 MPH (RPM goes above 2.3K). I just "blip" it into the next higher gear and all is well after that action.
Stevehnm & Zeeper's comments provide some entertainment; however, appear to be more of a pointless "spat".
If I am careful and my son does not drive the car, I can attain the average ranges posted on the sticker - sometimes a bit more. But what the heck, drive it like you stole it and have fun (just don't do it when that blue light is on) - this coming from an old man.
