In addition, it has line level inputs so you just need to splice in the factory head unit speaker outs and you're all set.

Edit: also, nothing boss audio makes inspired any confidence. It's all pretty generic and the general reviews show it. Might as well buy your car audio parts at kraken or O'Reily.
Ok I have limited knowledge here so bear with me, I'll try my best.

I believe that line out converters are for when you're connecting speaker wires to the amp, correct?

However, the clarion cx501 has specific sub RCA outputs. Shouldn't those be able to hook up directly to the amp?

Just run the wire, it's not as hard as you think. Mounting the underwear sub is more difficult than that wire.
Right but I don't have heated seats so it's an unused circuit.
