Thanks for the info guys. I've been reading up a lot and watching videos on YouTube of how to handle tree wells. They look scary as **** haha. Basically everyone says stay as calm as possible and do not under any circumstances ride alone. We're going to be in a group of 6, 4 riders and 2 skiers. We've got probes, shovels and whistles. I picked up a beacon just for the hell of it too.
We plan to stick strictly in bounds as we don't know the mountain and none of us have first hand experience with PNW snowpack and terrain.
I'm so stoked though and hope we get some deep days while we're out there.
Anyone doing some skiing/riding this week? I'm home in NH (concord area) for the entire week. Definitely looking to get some turns in after Christmas Day.
