I wonder if a dedicated equalizer would help but probably not...will switch to Alpine Type-R or MB Quart within a year (will need to listen to them and others first). My fatal mistake was buying them from Crutchfield versus listening to them in store first (or better in car). I had Inifinty Reference coaxials in an old car and thought they were nice so expected the Kappas to be better.
I have infinity reference components in the front and coaxial in the rear. I have the same complaint, they are harsh as hell. Will be switching
