I would extensively test drive all of your options and have a buyers inspection performed on any of the ones you are interested in.
Also check to see if the 03 WRX has had it's timing belt replaced, because it's supposed to happen @ 105,000 miles. If it has not happened, then your looking at writing another big check to your mechanic to have it done.
Just an lil story about buyers inspections.. A few years ago I decided to buy a CHEAP 1989 Jeep Cherokee, I test drove and it felt like a really solid ride, and so I skipped the $100 buyers inspection since the whole car was only $1200 to begin with. Two weeks later - after I had just broke down on the side of the road with blown head gaskets - I come to find out the vehicle must have been sitting still for years and years, because the coolant was just full of rust and gunk. A simple buyers inspection could have helped me avoid that total loss.
