+1 for Rockymount Tie Rods! They work great and the low profile looks awesome. (probably less noisy and better for MPG as well)

I was concerned about the ease of removing the crossbars with a Torx wrench but the solder idea is BRILLIANT. I'm doing this tomorrow.
