I'm on my second read of "Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain" by Bruce Tremper. Probably more in depth than what you'd want at this point, but it's widely considered the avalanche bible.

On another note, I'm taking my Level 1 avy course this coming weekend with Northwest Mountain Guides out of Leavenworth. Should be an interesting weekend for field observations with the surface hoar that developed last week and a variety of snow/rain/sleet through this week.
