Yeah, a lot of dealerships won't let you watch over their shoulder when they're doing work claiming liability issues. Don't know if it's true or not.

But yeah, I agree, just do the consumption test. 79 has done his own oil change, he knows what full looks like on the dipstick. Just let them do it, and check the oil afterwards. I'd check afterwards even if I wasn't doing a consumption test considering the people they usually have doing oil changes at dealerships. It sucks that you have let someone else work on your car to get this test done, but it's the only way anything will get fixed under warranty.
