yeah... i burned 1qt per 2000 mi in my 11 Forester. I know it sucks to have to check and fill it up. But, that's life, you will never get what you always want.
In my '05 STi, I was consuming about that same amount. I did oil changes every 3K, so all it took was one quart of oil between oil changes. I wasn't thrilled about it, but it wasn't the end of the world. Both my Honda Preludes ('94 and '00) did about the same.
