I wouldn't buy a heavily modded car unless I was confident the owner had done things right and taken care of the car from a maintenance standpoint. The logical extreme here is buying a race car--you wouldn't buy one without a well-established history. But if that history is there, you're likely to get a steal vs. spending all of the money to build the same car yourself. Incidentally I'm selling my 2005 PSM WRX Wagon, which has twice as many miles but NEVER any mods, and I'm listing it for $9.5k with quite a few bites so far...
What do you consider done right... Making a 2.0L 300+ whp and no detonation?
I think the list of mods are all supporting of eachother pretty well
