We have a shop in California that we deal with directly. They follow the process correctly as many other machine shops just press the sleeves in and call it good. The main bearing carriers need to be checked and many times corrected since the block can warp with the sleeves installed.
We use Darton sleeves, they are about $400 if I recall. The current block we are doing is a 102mm bore stroked to 2.7l. Oh and a rotated GTX35 twin scroll turbo...I'm thinking its going to be slightly awesome when done.
