Oddly, I'm not sure why OP isn't looking in the For Sale section. There's a lot of people selling used Subarus, often with some worthwhile mods that most people already plan to do but cheaper to get into.
Being young doesn't matter a ton. I've test driven a lot of new cars when I was in my high teens. I drove up in a junker, was not dressed well, and I still got good service from a lot of the dealerships around my area. It's really dealer depending, more specifically salesman dependent. Even at the same dealership, you can get a pretty wide range of response from one salesman to the next.
