No need to remove the turbo or the exhaust manifold. Once the downpipe is remove and the uppipe is unbolted from the exhaust manifold and the turbo, undo the 1 14mm nut on the passenger side motor mount and jack the motor up by the exhaust manifold. Jacking the motor up 2" is plenty. Drop the studs out of the turbo and rotate the uppipe 180* and you'll be able to pull it out towards the downpipe.
Careful with this method. It works, but with the turbo on the end dangling, it's also a recipe to crack that brittle OEM plastic turbo inlet. (or potentially "unseat" an aftermarket inlet)
