That is a good point. It slipped my mind.

The averages for the CVT and 5MT on fuelly are 27.2mpg and 27.8mpg respectively. Based on those numbers 5MT drivers are pretty well meeting the EPA combined estimate (28mpg) while the CVT drivers are slightly below it (30mpg). The assumption here (it may be a bad one) is that fuelly averages can be compared to EPA combined numbers.
