Didn't read through the entire thread, so maybe OP addressed this. But, I Dynamated just my spare tire well and it made a big difference. The doors already had some, previous owner install for stereo that was in car.
I too am a little older than most on this forum, 44 yrs old. Sounds like it's out of your price range but I'm running a Cobb catted dp and AVO catback, has 2 resonators to quiet it down a bit. It's good and mean when opened up, but not bad at all on the freeway. The stiff suspension is more what friends ands ex-wife have/had a problem with.
I've never owned a vehicle I didn't lower and stiffen the suspension, so it's all I know.
Point of my post was to push for Dynamat to help with road noise. Your car has more sound deadening than mine to begin with anyways.
