Except that the state highways in NH (like Route 16) have looooong sections that are just one lane each way. It's not uncommon for 20 or 30 cars to be lined up behind someone who is driving slowly. Then when you finally reach the two lane section, the snail up front guns it and tries to keep people from passing for some reason. There's a mad rush and only 1 or 2 manage to get by on the right before the passing lane ends and the road goes back to one lane. Then the jerk slows back down to 5 mph below the speed limit. This happens all the time.
