I think you fail to understand what an absolutely horrible idea it is to do something this extreme to such a new car, when you can spend pretty much the exact same amount of money to get a car that already has all of it pre-installed with a warranty.

Think about it this way...if you do this, your car will become almost unsellable. It's resale value is going to drop at LEAST $5k, that's on top of the $6k+ that you put into it to do the swap, which means you're now ~$11k worse off than before. If the car gets stolen or gets totaled, all of the money you invested is gone. Alternatively, if you trade up to an STi, all of the money you put into that trade becomes equity that you will reclaim (at least some of it) when you sell or if it gets stolen/totaled.

It's the same reason why when people post about turboing their N/A impreza, we tell them to sell it and buy a WRX.
