todays project (not pleased with, but the door is back together)
basically the 2nd pic ended up with many more holes/much more trimming in it before i could get the panel to actually snap back in place w/o the slightest touch knocking it loose. an accidental slam of the door might still knock a pin or 2 loose, so i foresee some additional trimming in the future, plus the door handle doesn't fit correctly now, it is seperated from the panel by about 1mm (only noticable by me) but that is extra stress it doesn't need.
if i didn't need my extra MLV for the front footwells, I would probably redo this door and instead of 1 big piece, do maybe 3-4 smaller panels that are attached to the inner door skin because of how it ends up fitting as 1 big panel there are some places with over 1.5" of gap behind it and in other places there isn't even an extra 1/8" available.
overall I am pleased, i still need to do the footwells as aforementioned and the front passenger door. from my quick test drive the car is actually pretty quiet now up to about 60mph, and at around 70mph most of the noise I am hearing is coming from the right side (which makes sense) next weds that door will get done!
