Regardless of what the EPA says, the drag coefficients provide a better indicator of fuel economy at highway speeds. Of course, drag becomes exponentially more important as speed increases; the sedan may have an easier time achieving the EPA highway mileage than the 5-door.
Interesting. 7% more drag but the same highway mpg?
Looking into the CR numbers, they do show the hatchback getting 2 mpg highway less than the sedan.
So why don't the EPA tests Subaru ran show that?
