Ok, so last night i went to leave work and drove out of my spot in first gear, then when i tried to shift to 2nd, the throw out bearing went completely out. So i had to have the car towed to the shop which i already had an appointment for. Too bad, it couldn't last me another night.
Tranny shop took it apart and said the aluminum sleeve that everything rides on wore out??? Which is what caused the throw out bearing to not work as it wore into the soft aluminum sleeve. So they are ordering me a steel sleeve to replace the aluminum one, as well a whole new clutch assembly and throw out bearing fork which got bent. In total should cost $1200 and be done by the end of the day.
Does anyone know what part he's talking about that's aluminum?
