Because of the leak, the system is empty already. I can draw the vacuum and fill the system myself. I just wanted to make sure that there isn't anything more to it than the o-ring, or if other things should be done at the same time.

As mentioned, most people don't invest in a/c equipment to be able to draw a vacuum. I assumed you would be taking it to a shop for this. Just to be clear, you are not just hooking up an R-134a canister from autozone, right? Please take no offense, I just want to be sure.
