Do a compression test and a leak down test, if it all checks out ok leave the car as is. Worry about building the engine when it fails.

If you must rebuild,Forged pistons and all new bearings. A thorough cleaning and measuring and that should be all you need for your goals
Yea I kinda thought the same for while but i feel like if i wait till something breaks it could cost me extra than doing it early and id have less of a chance of being stranded somewhere when there is failure. I will do the compression test tho I haven't yet cuz the car runs great. I just don't really know how long a moded sti is gonna last. I was really surprised it has lasted this long. Knock on wood lol
