I had an '08 C30 and that was an absolutely wonderful car. Quick, quiet, predictable handling for FWD, the best drivers seat I've had in over 20 cars and it was phenomenal in the snow (with Dunlop Wintersport 3D) as well as being super safe. I got t-boned right on the drivers door/b pillar and the window didn't even break but the seat rails tore out of the floor when the car bent. Laminated side glass FTW!
Yes it was a bit more expensive than some of the other cars in its class but it was so much more pleasant to be in that it was tough to consider it in the same class. It isn't about being a hot hatch it's about being a really nice, somewhat practical small car. If I had wanted another FWD car there would still be one in my driveway.
Oh yeah, it is still one of the best looking cars of the last 20 years.
